qEEG, LORETA and NeuroField Information
We are pleased to announce that we now offer the following treatment modalities!
qEEG - A qualitative EEG is a brain mapping procedure that allows us to see how well the brain is functioning in terms of brain wave states, the connections between different areas and how well they are communicating, how much energy each area of the brain is using, as well as detailed information about deeper brain structures and different neural networks of the brain. This procedure involves putting on a snug cap that is covered with sensors. Each sensor site is filled with a thin gel to create connectivity and then we are able to read and record brain activity. The information collected will then form the basis of a treatment plan. Data collected during a qEEG is also compared to a normative database, so we can then compare each person to reports of other people of the same age and gender to get a sense of individual functioning.
LORETA Neurofeedback - LORETA (Low Resolution Brain Electromagnetic Tomography) is a more traditional form of neurofeedback. It involves wearing a snug sensor cap while watching a video. Brain entrainment occurs due to feedback from the video; if the brain is on target, the picture is clear and the volume is good. If it is not, the brain works to meet those parameters, which means the targeted brain areas are doing exactly what the training wants them to do. LORETA is an excellent modality for treating specific issues and targeting neural networks.
NeuroField - NeuroField is a magnetic coil system that directs specific frequencies into different areas of the brain. It is very useful for a variety of issues and involves putting on a snug cap while the coils are held in place with Velcro. This system is also very helpful for body-located issues, such as gastrointestinal issues or pain.
Neurofeedback has been successfully used to help improve symptoms related to ADD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, concussion/MTBI, traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, anxiety, depression, sleeping disturbances, migraines and headaches, memory and concentration issues, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), emotional disturbances, seizures, learning and reading difficulties, psychiatric conditions, addiction, fibromyalgia, mood disorders, OCD, chronic fatigue syndrome, sensory processing disorders and speech difficulties.
